Solar Stakes are Built Tough to outlast several panel life-cycle.

Portable Solar Panels are lightweight and compact by design, often weighing less than 10 lbs. Due to its wide cross-section and lightweight, wind loading forces have a big impact. In our experience, when wind/gusts exceed 10 mph, the probability of panel flipping over increases.

Staking the panels down may not be necessary on a calm day. Hence the solar stakes were designed to fold under the elastic band when not needed.

Absolutely, the straps were designed with complementing hook and loop and retain your panels kickstand function, both in use and storage.

When driving the stakes through the ground is untenable, we recommend placing a heavy object, like a rock on the strap/grommet. This will provide some level of ground attachment and resistance to wind loading forces.

Absolutely, if your brand of Portable Solar Panel has reverse orientation of hook & loop fasteners, you can simply flip the elastic band and reverse it.

It’s recommended to keep the straps installed on the kickstand legs of the Portable Solar Panel. The stakes can be stored in the reclosable bag and kept in the panel pouch.

Solar Stakes are compatible with panels with kickstand legs in the range of 5″ – 7.5″ –  like the Jackery SolarSaga 100W, XTAR SP100. We are working to qualify other brands and will issue a compatibility table soon.

You can twist the elastic band 360 degrees before securing it to the kickstand leg with hook/loop. This will make it a snug fit. Please see an illustration here.
